State logs two more deaths, 61 new cases

Imphal, November 17 2021: The state on Wednesday reported two new fatalities along with 51 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 2022 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 2.52 per cent, almost one per cent drop from Tuesday's 3.51 per cent.
The two new death cases were unvaccinated individuals from Imphal West and Imphal East districts.
With this, the total death cases from Covid-19 in the state have reached 1955.Out of the 16 districts, six reported fresh Covid cases on Wednesday with Imphal West still reporting highest cases at 22 .
In terms of positivity rate, Imphal East district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 5.4 per cent while Bishnupur district recorded lowest positivity rate at 2.5 per cent.
Chandel, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Thoubal districts did not report any new positive cases.
The active caseload rose to 552, out of which 53 (9.60 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability.
So far, the state has recorded 95,239 positive cases and 1581 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 908 new positive cases and 34 death cases out of which 389 new cases and 15 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 51 new positive cases (30 male & 21 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (3) and other testing centres (48) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (18), Imphal West (22), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (4), Tengnoupal (1) and Ukhrul (2).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 34 patients were discharged from home isolation (14), RIMS (4), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (11) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,639 (general population -1,20,288 and CAPF personnel - 4,351) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,132 (general population - 1,17,796 and CAPF personnel - 4,336) and number of active cases is 552 (general population - 542 and CAPF personnel - 10).The recovery rate is 97.99 per cent.
A total of 736 D-type and 107 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Whereas 7031 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday taking the total number of vaccinated persons to 12,64,522 which include 8,11,490 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,557), Imphal East (27,642) Thoubal (9462), Churachandpur (10,171) Kangpokpi (2783), Tamenglong (3283), Bishnupur (9186), Senapati (2239), Ukhrul (2978)m Kakching (6419), Chandel (2345), Noney (1072), Tengnoupal (1072), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (944) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (650), Imphal East (466), Thoubal (176), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (191), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (43), Kakching (112), Chandel (40), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,167 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,643 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,50,003 tests per million population against the national average of 4,48,303 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
Infhe past 24 hours, only 2022 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.52 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.93 per cent.
