MPHC caps OBC quota

Jabalpur, Nov 18 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court ruled on Thursday that reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) would not exceed 14 per cent in the School Education Department.
Chief Justice Ravi Malimath and Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla heard a contempt petition by Rajasthan-resident Prabal Pratap Singh and others who submitted that the state government implemented a 27 per cent quota for OBCs and 10 per cent for Economically Weaker Sections vis-à-vis recruitment of teachers despite a stay on 27 per cent for OBCs.

Notices were issued.
