NSTL and AU cooperate in various aspects

Joint defence technology course in MSc
VISAKHAPATNAM: Naval Science Technological Laboratory (NSTL) proposed Andhra University (AU) to introduce a Defence Technology course in MSc and also a joint Ph.D. program. NSTL would provide opportunities to AU students for internships and apprenticeships. The NSTL director doctor Y Srinivasa Rao and AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. PVGD Prasada Reddy held elaborate talks in AU on Thursday over the proposal. Both institutions would make an MoU soon.


The NSTL director said that his institution would provide a chance to research students of AU Engineering and Physics to work in NSTL Laboratories. They discussed the short-term internships to Engineering passed out students. AU students would get an opportunity for apprenticeship in NSTL. The talks were held over providing work for AU students and research students in various wings in NSTL.

AU Vice-Chancellor Prof Prasada Reddy proposed that AU would appoint experts in various wings of NSTL as honorary Professors. He requested the NSTL director to provide the knowledge and experience of persons working in the research wing and industries to the present generation of students.
