Rain hits Nizamabad, paddy soaked

Hyderabad: The sudden rains that hit the Nizamabad district on Thursday kept farmers on the edge as their field held on the road before being moved to the procurement centers became soaking wet.

The veld of farmers in Bodhan, Kotagiri and Chandur was affected due to the untimely rain. The district has registered one millimeter of rainfall in the past 24 hours, according to MeT department officials.

The temperature in the district also dropped due to this rain. Many villages in Nizamabad were shrouded in dense fog which caused visibility problems for motorists.

For the last few days, the whole district was covered in fog in the mornings which forced people, especially farmers, to start their activities late against their daily normal schedule.

The maximum temperature recorded in the district in the last 24 hours was 32.9 degrees Celsius, a deviation of two degrees Celsius from normal temperature. The minimum temperature recorded in the district in the last 24 hours was 23 degrees Celsius, a deviation of 6.3 degrees Celsius from normal.

MeT department officials said the daytime temperature could drop further in the next few weeks.
