Manipur ambush case to be handed over to NIA: Manipur CM N Biren Singh

Militants on Saturday last in Manipur’s Churachandpur district attacked an Assam Rifles convoy resulting in the death of an Assam Rifles Colonel, his two family members and four jawans. Militant outfit People’s Liberation Army (PLA)and Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) claimed responsibility for the attack.

The CM said that the case would be handed over to the NIA to reveal the actual details and identity of the perpetrators of the violence.
Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh said that investigation of the November 13 ambush in Churachandpur district will be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Militant outfit People’s Liberation Army (PLA)and Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Speaking at the 12th annual award presentation ceremony of the Manipur State Award for Literature-2020, the Chief Minister said that the case would be handed over to the NIA to reveal the actual details and identity of the perpetrators of the violence.

Union Home Ministry had last month asked the NIA to probe the assassination of influential tribal leader and social activist Athuan Abonmai on September 22 in Tamenglong district in Manipur.
