17 new cases from 4 districts, daily tests cross 8,000 mark

Nagpur: Four districts together reported 17 new cases in Vidarhba on Wednesday. Rest of the districts didn’t report any new cases despite performing good number of tests. These included Washim which remained Covid free.
Daily testing touched over 8000 in the region. New cases increased the caseload to 133.
Seven new recoveries were reported in the region while no deaths took place.
In Nagpur, two new cases were reported from the city while five were from the rural parts of the district. The district has 56 active patients. Around 10 patients are admitted in private hospitals while 16 are in government ones as per the civic body’s norms.
Washim: The district remained Covid free as no case was reported from 268 cases.
Gondia: The districts didn’t report any case or discharge while one active case remains. Gondia conducted 204 tests.
Bhandara: The districts didn’t report any case or discharge while two cases are active. Bhandara conducted 321 tests.
Akola: The district didn’t report any new case or any recovered patient. The active cases are 10.
Gadchiroli: The district didn’t record a new case or a recovery. It has 8 active patients.
Buldhana: The district reported 4 new cases. According to official data, the district reported two new recoveries. This left 14 active cases.
Wardha: Five tested positive out of 525 reports, taking the case count to 49,422. No new recovery or death was reported while active positive increased to 12. Total recoveries are 48,080 and toll 1,326.
Yavatmal: While there were no deaths, there was one positive case. The toll remained unchanged at 1,787. Currently, there are 6 active positive patients under treatment. The administration received 373 reports of which one was found positive. Of the 72,922 positive patients, 71,129, including one on Wednesday, have recovered. The test positivity rate is 9.57 %, death rate 2.45 % and daily positivity rate 0.27 %. There are 2,160 beds available for Covid patients in hospitals across the district.
Chandrapur: With no detection, the district remained Covid free on Wednesday. A solitary recovery brought active figures down to 20. There was no deaths. Caseload remained stable at 88,837, while total recoveries inched up to 87,274. The toll is 1,543.
Amravati: No new positive case was reported on Wednesday even as two recoveries took the district’s total to 94,557. With the day reporting no death, the number of active cases under treatment came down to nine.
