While recent Overfinch Range Rovers may not have been universally adored, it's easy to imagine it accruing many more fans of its latest creations. Chiefly because 'Heritage' focuses on the best-looking Range Rovers, but also because it's the kind of classy, subtle package of upgrades Overfinch's reputation was founded on. To most, a Heritage Range Rover will be exactly that - a nicely presented classic. But underneath it benefits from a whole host of upgrades, including engine, suspension, and interior work. Overfinch says the result is a design classic "with a contemporary twist" - a 4x4 engineered by Land Rover but "elevated" by them. Looking at this car, it's hard to disagree.
As is Overfinch tradition, a Heritage build can take any form the customer wants; the first completed Range Rover (which is now for sale, in fact) is the Overfinch Heritage Field Edition, based on a 1993 LSE. It's had the kitchen sink of Heritage bits thrown at it (or whatever the posh equivalent is), including a 430hp Chevy LS3, six-speed automatic gearbox, burlier differentials and propshafts, bigger brakes, new Overfinch suspension and a long-range fuel tank. And that's just what you can't see...
The stunning Overfinch Emerald Green respray is the most eye-catching alteration, but note as well the tan Recaro seats, Moto-Lita wheel, burr walnut doors cards, Lambswool mats and - uniquely for this Field Edition - a gun and drinks cabinet, which uses bespoke fixings to ensure everything stays secure while you indulge in 430hp and 428lb ft. That's all in addition to infotainment that would have seemed from outer space in the early 90s: Bluetooth, sat-nav, wireless charging and so on.
It's quite the build, even by Overfinch's standards. "This fully remastered project epitomises Overfinch Heritage's commitment to quality, creativity and performance", reads the listing, "a Range Rover Classic for the connoisseur." This is merely inspiration, too; Overfinch Heritage is inviting commissions for the old Defender and two-door Range Rover as well. All you need to provide is an idea, as they'll source a Land Rover "of outstanding provenance". Come with plenty of funding, too - the Emerald Green Classic, as an example, is £285k plus VAT. But yours will be even better, right?
