Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra has said there are no shortcuts to success in life.

Neeraj Chopra was warmly welcomed at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Sports Institute in Patiala.

Neeraj was at the NIS, Patiala, where he elaborated on how he began his journey to success from the institute. He said it took him 10 to 11 years to reach where he is today. He said that he came to the NIS in 2015 and it was here that he got the right direction to achieve his goal. He was imparted right coaching and was told about the right diet to be taken.  Neeraj said it is only with hard work and perseverance that one can achieve success.

The javelin thrower, who won a gold medal for the country at the Tokyo Olympics and was awarded the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna, was warmly welcomed at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Sports Institute in Patiala. 

A large number of other sports personalities were also present on the occasion, including Kamaljit Kaur.

He said that he will continue to do his best to make the country proud all over the world. 

Neeraj also appealed to the youth to get involved in sports, and stay away from drugs.
