College of the North Atlantic – Qatar (CNA-Q) is now offering computer-delivered IELTS in addition to the paper-based examination at its Testing Centre. This new service gives test takers greater flexibility in dates and faster results delivery. Once the test is completed, results will be typically available between three to five calendar days as opposed to two weeks for paper-based IELTS.
As an institution for excellence in Technical and Vocational Education and Training, CNA-Q works relentlessly on developing its services to ensure a seamless user experience. The CNA-Q Testing Centre has dedicated a fully equipped space for its customers where they will have the choice to take either the Academic or General Training computer-delivered IELTS test.
Whether candidates take IELTS on paper or computer, the test content, timing structure and scoring remain the same for both options. Test will start with Listening, followed by Reading, Writing and the Speaking will still be conducted face-to-face, as it is the most effective way of assessing speaking skills and prompting a more realistic performance from test takers.
Dr Rachid Benlamri, vice president, Academic Affairs at CNA-Q said: “All CNA-Q teaching is conducted in English; therefore, we place a high value on the quality of instruction, as well as the methods of assessment that we use. Our testing centre has developed strong ties with IDP and is officially recognised by this international entity. We are pleased to make IELTS available in a more technologically advanced way to serve the preference of different test takers, and we are keen on offering all the support and material needed to ensure a high quality testing experience.”
CNA-Q Testing Centre will offer computer-delivered IELTS on Tuesdays. IELTS is the world’s most popular high-stakes English proficiency test for higher education and global migration. It is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.
