Rashtriya Raksha Samarpan Parv starts in Jhansi



Jhansi, Nov 17 (UNI) The three-day 'Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv', which will see launch of 100 new Sainik Schools, schemes and programs for NCC, laying of foundation stone of a Rs 400-crore project in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor, along with a thrust on Make in India in defence, started here today.

The festival will culminated on November 19, the birth anniversary of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, a hero of the 1857 War of Independence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address and launch several projects on Friday. He will also handover to the Indian Air Force the Light Combat Helicopter, designed and developed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

The program will be inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh from Muktakashi Manch, along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday. The festival is a part of celebrations of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav".

At the program, being held close to the historic Jhansi Fort, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate eight schemes.

In Jhansi, the Defence Minister will also visit the Cantonment area, where he will attend the army program at Hathiground. He will also go to Datia to a temple of goddess Pitambara, and is also likely to visit Jhokanbagh Gurudwara.

SP City Vivek Tripathi said that security personnel armed with weapons are being deployed on the roofs of around 400 houses around the venue.

The residents in the houses around the site are being verified and tight security arrangements have been made. He also said that police has no intention of harassing anyone and the checks are being done for security purpose.
