German crane rental company Weiss Kranservice has taken delivery of a 250 tonne Demag AC 250-5 All Terrain crane.
The five axle AC 250-5 features a 70 metre main boom plus a 21 to 45 metre bi-fold swingaway extension to offer a tip height of 108.7 metres. It also features the company's IC-1 Plus control system, which creates load charts depending on the outrigger configuration and slew position. Weiss Kranservice takes delivery of its 250t Demag AC 250-5 All Terrain crane The new crane follows a 220 tonne AC 220 and a 300 tonne AC 300 delivered last year - see: Two Demags for Weiss. It will also be joined by a 450 tonne AC 450-7 (AC 7.450-1) next year to round off the set. Hans Asam of Tadano with Nikolaus Huber, Dominik Magg and Christiano Autunes-Ribeiro of Weiss Weiss junior manager Dominik Magg, said: “We were missing a middle child. Many of the components in these cranes are interchangeable – from the hoist, through the main boom extensions and runners, all the way to the swing-away rooster sheaves and heavy-lift attachments. This keeps operating costs down and makes servicing easier.”
