Centre orders all schools and educational institutes to remain physically shut till further orders

New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) The Centre's Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has ordered several measures to control the severity of air pollution in Delhi NCR. The central panel has asked all public & private schools, colleges and educational institutes to remain shut till further orders.
Though the students will be able to access classes through online mode, it added.
Meanwhile, all construction activities will also cease in NCR till November 21 except projects related to Railways, Metro, Airport and National Security/Defence, according to the order.
The air quality panel has also banned entries of trucks, except those carting essential commodities, to enter Delhi till November 21.
CAQM also advised the NCR state government of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh to allow at least 50 per cent of their staff to work from home (WFH) till November 21.
"Private firms in Delhi NCR must also be encouraged to allow at least 50 % of their staff to WFH", it said in a series of directions.
The latest directions from the central pollution control panel in NCR have come after a meeting with Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan earlier on Tuesday.

New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) Stating that providing food to people was the primary duty of the state, the Supreme Court on Tuesday reprimanded the Centre over its response on framing a policy to implement the Community Kitchen Scheme, and asked it to hold a meeting with states within three weeks.
