Kolkata, Nov 16 (UNI) Bengal rode on a steady Dhara Gunjjar half-century along with Jhumia
Khatun's late surge to clinch a nail-biting 1-wicket victory against Delhi to enter Womens Senior
One Day Trophy semifinals on Tuesday in Bangalore.
Dhara carried her superb form in the crucial tie today scoring a patient 120-ball 75 to
single-handedly keep the match alive for Bengal after being reduced to 54/5 chasing
186-run target set by Delhi.
Dhara stayed confident and steady to stay in the wicket till 47th over while Jhumia showed
off her batting skills with a fluent 36 off 45 balls deliveries to guide Bengal towards victory.
Bengal bowler Saika Ishaque contributed with a 8-ball 14 cameo to win the match in the last
over.
Earlier put to bat first Delhi managed to score 185/5 in their quota of overs thanks to Priya
Punia's 90 and unbeaten fifty by Ayushi Soni.
Rumeli Dhar struck early to remove Delhi batters Prakiti and Vandana Chaturvedi in the fifth
over while Priya played a good innings.
Saika bagged 2 wickets and Gouher Sultana picked up 1 as a disciplined Bengal bowling
attack restricted Delhi to 185.
Bengal Women will take on Railways on November 18 in the semifinal tie.
