MP accuses TMC in Metro Dairy sell-off

Statesman reports while BJP’s parliamentarian from Darjeeling Raju Bista has hailed CBI’s investigation into West Bengal government’s sale of its 47 percent stake in the Metro Dairy project to a private company.

Bista has urged the Calcutta High Court to ask the central agency to also probe the alleged misappropriation and diversion of funds from the Himalayan Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Limited (HIMUL). HIMUL has already closed down due to the scam.

Bista is quoted saying by selling the Metro Dairy at a low price the Trinamool government has allegedly caused a loss of Rs 500 crore to the public.
