Pro-Robindro mob storms Keibul PS

Bishnupur, November 15 2021: Irate supporters of MLA T Robindro from Thanga AC stormed Keibul Police Station on Sunday afternoon claiming that Keibul Police had sided with individuals who had allegedly slandered the MLA and attempted to smear his reputation.

The enraged mob also blocked the Moirang-Kumbi State Highway and Moirangkhunou to Keibul roads by setting up a blockade at Moirangkhunou Bazar.

According to Tongbram Iboyaima, a supporter who participated in the blockade, the supporters of T Robindro had also made an appeal to Keibul Police Station a few days ago to apprehend the persons involved in slandering the MLA.

The police's inaction has led to the blockade, he added while expressing his regret for the inconveniences caused to the public by the blockade.

It may be noted that T Robindro also rushed to the spot upon hearing the news and questioned Keibul Police Station for the lack of response to the complaint.

The MLA also alleged that he was threatened by a woman during the incident and expressed his disappointment that the police had not booked the person or started an investigation on the matter.
