Workshop on researchable ideas and methods held

Imphal, November 15 2021: A six-day workshop on "Researchable ideas and methods: Improving competency of social scientists" began today at the conference hall of the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroisemba, Imphal.
The workshop organized by the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) IDP, College of Agriculture, CAU Imphal was attended by Prof Indira Sarangthem, dean, CoA; Dr Ng Joykumar, dean, Food Technology, CAU and Dr EVD Sastry, associate coordinator, NAHEP IDP as presidium members.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Professor Indira Sarangthem stressed on the correlation between the research works of social science and science and added that both the activities complement each other.
Further stating that the workshop aims at providing opportunities in the research areas and methodologies for young researchers and faculties in social sciences, the Professor exuded confidence that it will also be quite beneficial in bridging the gap between social science and science.
Dr Joykumar in his speech highlighted the interface between the appliance of theories in modern technologies and methodologies.
He also asked the faculties, PG and PhD students to reap the benefits of the workshop while asserting that the frequent conduct of such educational/academic activities in CAU is a great boon to learning.
Pointing out the differences and links between the research works of social science and science, Dr Sastry observed that the research works should find out the accuracy and illustration for the thoughts and conjectures.
Later, technical sessions wherein various renowned faculties and experts spoke on various topics were held.
