Mumbai reports 218 new Covid-19 infections, 1 death
Mumbai on Tuesday reported 218 new Covid-19 cases and one death, taking the tally in the city to 7,59,995 and the toll to 16,297. The discharge of 188 persons took the recovery count to 7,38,343 in Mumbai, which is 97 per cent of the overall tally, leaving the state with 2,804 active cases.
Minor nabbed for stealing Rs 1 lakh cash, mobile phones from hotel in Thane
The police have detained a minor boy for allegedly stealing cash to the tune of Rs 1 lakh and two mobile phones from a hotel where he worked in Maharashtra's Thane city, police said on Tuesday. The theft took place at a hotel in Naupada area of the city on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, when the boy used a duplicate key to open the hotel and stole the cash and mobile phones, senior inspector Anil Deshmukh said. Bombay HC rejected Indrani Mukerjea’s bail plea on merits
Bombay high court on Tuesday dismissed on merits a bail application filed by Indrani Mukerjea in the Sheena Bora murder case. On Monday Justice Nitin Sambre had after hearing her counsel Sana Raees Khan at some length asked her to take instructions from Indrani who is in Byculla Women’s jail and inform by Tuesday whether she desires to withdraw her bail application. She got back on Tuesday to say Indrani Mukerjea wishes to invite an order on merits of the case. In other words she did not wish to withdraw her plea. Justice Sambre had on Monday said, "on merits am not convinced.''
