Man, 27, held for bomb threat call to actor Vijay’s home

CHENNAI: A 27-year-old man who allegedly made a hoax bomb threat to actor Vijay’s house was arrested on Monday.
Police said the man was identified as S Bhuvaneshwaran from Marakkanam in Villupuram district.
In the wee hours of Monday, a hoax call was made to the master control room in the state police headquarters of a bomb placed at actor Vijay’s house in Chennai.
A bomb detective and disposal squad (BDDS) and a sniffer dog team were sent to the spot in Neelankarai and the threat was found to be a hoax.
Based on a complaint from the manager of the actor, a case was registered.
The police team traced the mobile phone to Marakkanam and nabbed Bhuvaneshwaran. Police said the accused had made such hoax calls in the past too.
He had threatened to bomb the houses of actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Ajith Kumar, Edappadi K Palaniswamy and chief minister M K Stalin
