CM Biren kicks off GTV 2.0 for Imphal West

Imphal, November 15 2021: Chief Minister N Biren Singh kicked off Go to Village 2.0 for Imphal West district at a solemn function held at Eco Tourism Park, Salam Thongkhong today.
The programme which is being organised by Imphal West district administration would continue for three days till November 17.Stalls of different Government departments had also been set up at the venue to provide services to the people.
Speaking at the occasion, N Biren said that the Go to Village mission had been taken up as an initiative of the State Government to ensure doorstep delivery of services and added that such initiative would help in regaining the erstwhile bonding and trust shared among different communities of the State.
Understanding the hardship faced by people of far flung villages in visiting Government offices for availing welfare schemes, the Government took up the initiative of providing various services and facilities at the people's doorstep, he added.
Informing that a total of 2,679 villages had been covered under the Phase I of Go to Village and Go to Hills mission, he continued that the Phase II of the mission would cover the remaining villages.
He also mentioned benefits provided under various welfare schemes and maintained that a total of around five lakh people had been given Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) cards and Ayushman Bharat cards to around 3.5 lakh people so far.
The Chief Minister expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his concern about the State and timely initiatives taken up to save the lives of people during the hard times of COVID-19 pandemic.
He further maintained that the Government is for the people and has the commitment to work for the welfare of the people irrespective of religion, place, etc.
He urged the people to visit the stalls of different departments set up at the venue, take first hand information of Government schemes and avail the maximum benefits of the schemes.
He informed that people can seek any information regarding schemes and bring up their grievances by dialling CM Da Haisi number '9534795347'.Education Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen, while delivering his speech, stated that the State Government, under the capable leadership of Chief Minister N Biren, had always been working to achieve inclusive development.
Certain initiatives had been taken up to ensure the benefits of welfare schemes reach every eligible person by initiating door to door delivery of services, he added.
Informing that most of the Government departments and banks had set up their stalls at the venue to give their services to the people, he mentioned that around 1,200 loans would be disbursed by Manipur State Co-operative Bank Ltd during the three days.
During the programme, Biren distributed assistance of various schemes under different departments including wheelchairs, old aged pension schemes, cards under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) and aid and appliances for physically challenged, among others.
Agriculture Minister Oinam Lukhoi, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha Leishemba Sanajaoba, Deputy Speaker, Kongkham Robindro, Chairman, Manipur Buildings & Others Construction Workers' Welfare Board Heikham Dingo, MLA for Konthoujam AC Dr Sapam Ranjan, MLA for Wangjing Tentha Paonam Brojen, MLA for Langthabal AC Karam Shyam, Adyakshya, Imphal West Zilla Parishad RK Taruni, Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, Administrative Secretaries, Zilla Parishad Members and other Government officials attended the programme, among others.
