Discussions focussed on the current developments in Afghanistan, sources said, adding the recently held Regional Security Dialogue of NSAs on Afghanistan, movement of people in and out of Afghanistan, coordinating global efforts on humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, regional security issues, and other bilateral and international issues of mutual interest too figures in the talks.

India conveyed its concerns over Afghanistan being used to promote cross-border terror and role of an external power in this process, sources hinted.

West was briefed about India's constructive role in Afghanistan over the last two decades, something that even the Taliban recognise as opposed to the negative role played by Pakistan in Afghanistan. India rued the absence of an inclusive and representative government in Kabul.

West and the Indian officials were on the same page on what afflicts Afghanistan, ET has learnt. It is understood that US is closely observing Pakistani role in Afghanistan.
