Adva takes part in research project with state funding to improve network capacity

Adva said it is taking part in a research project partly funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to improve the capacity of optical networks by using space division multiplexing (SDM) technology. The project will run for three years and aims to respond to the increasing demand in data traffic. It will test products for high-speed networks, such as a new generation of terminals and optical switching nodes and amplifiers to handle a large number of parallel signal paths.
