The City of Johannesburg's first inaugural council sitting scheduled for Tuesday will not take place this week.
The council was set to meet on 16 and 17 November for its first sitting following the municipal elections.
However, due to water cuts by Rand Water, it will now meet on 22 and 23 November.
The water utility had announced planned power cuts for Johannesburg from 15 November that will last for 54 hours.
It said this was intended to assist with maintenance to infrastructure.

Johannesburg's acting municipal manager, Floyd Brink, said in a letter to councillors on Saturday holding the sitting would pose a health risk.
Councils across the country have 14 days to meet following the elections.
The election of mayors, deputy mayors, and speakers form a crucial part of the first council meetings.
The delayed sitting will also affect the orientation of councillors, which was scheduled for 18 and 19 November.
No new dates have been set for orientation.
