OSC Bishnupur Celebrates foundation day

Bishnupur, November 13 2021: The 2nd foundation day of One Stop Centre (OSC,) Bishnupur opened under Union Ministry of Women & Child Development and run by People's Resource Development Association (PRDA,) Bishnupur was celebrated at its office located within New Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur on Saturday.

The programme was attended by Bishnupur district deputy commissioner Yumnam Ranjan, SDPO Manoj Prabhakar M and CWC Bishnupur chairperson P Premchand as presidium members.

Delivering the keynote address, PRDA secretary Longjam Suranjoy highlighted achievements of the OSC and hardships it faced during its two years of existence.

In their speeches, SDPO Manoj Prabhakar M stressed on stopping child marriages for decreasing crime against women while DC Yumnam Ranjan stated that women self-help groups should be encouraged as it not only financially empowers women but also helps them in asserting their rights.

He also praised the works being done by the OSC to address crime against women.

During the programme, tree saplings were planted in areas surrounding the OSC office.

It may be mentioned that till now the OSC has taken up 70 cases to help women and minor victims.
