Dengue cases in Moreh reach 38, 35 recover

Moreh, November 13 2021: The number of Dengue cases in the border town Moreh is increasing as 38 cases have been confirmed as of Friday.
There is, however, no report of fatality so far.
In year 2007, many people suffered from the disease in the Indo-Myanmar border town with some succumbing.
The first Dengue case in the border town this year was detected on October 28 when three people were found positive for vector borne disease and seven more people were found positive on November 2 .
According to assistant malaria officer (Tengnoupal District Moreh) Dr Kamei Khamchungpu Rongmei, Moreh Ward No 7 Chavangphai Leikai reported highest cases with 15 followed by seven in Ward No 5 Muslim Basti and six cases in Phaicham Veng.
Moreh Ward No 2 Gamnom Vengreported four cases while Ward No 4 Premnagar Leikai reported three cases so far.
The remaining cases were reported from Ward No 8 Ngamkhai Veng, Ward No 1 Molhoi Veng and Chikim village with one each case.
Among the 38 positive cases, 35 have recovered and discharged from hospital, he added.
While informing that officials of state and district malaria departments are taking up relevant action to contain the outbreak in the border town, Dr Kamei Khamchungpu said that fogging and Larvicide spraying are continuing at various localities of Moreh town particularly in localities where positive cases were detected.
