Panaji: The India meteorological department on Sunday predicted that Goa may witness light to moderate rainfall at many places and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in the next few days.

The IMD said that both the districts may see heavy rainfall as a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the east-central Arabian Sea off south Maharashtra-Goa coasts around November 17.

People in the state are likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places till November 18.

Rainfall amount is very likely to be in excess till November 18.

The state witnessed light rainfall on Sunday recording 0.3 mm rainfall as against 1.3mm normal rainfall.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture along and off the north Maharashtra-Goa coast from November 16 to 18.
