GURUGRAM: Employees of state roadways are once again rallying against the government over increasing privatisation of public transport and long-pending demands such as equal grade pay, regularisation of contractual employees, etc. During a meeting on Friday, the employee union decided to take out a foot march from Hisar to the office of the transport minister in Chandigarh on November 29. The union members cited logistics issues for delaying the march, earlier slated for November 19. They also said that they were giving two more weeks to the state government to consider their demands and call for a meeting or make an announcement to address their issues. "Initially, we had planned to take out the march on November 19. But due to some logistics and technical issues, we are forced to postpone it to November 29. It will also give the government two weeks to initiate a meaningful conversation... Members of union and other staffers will carry out march from Hisar to Chandigarh. In other depots, employees will hold gate meetings and hand over the memorandum to the respective depot managers," said Haryana Roadways Employees Union president Dalbir Kirmara.
