KALYAN: At least five workers were injured after rods used for construction of pillar for metro train work collapsed in Bhiwandi on Saturday afternoon. The injured are said to be stable and are rushed to the private hospital for treatment. The mishap occurred at 3 pm opposite Maratha Punjab hotel situated in Anjurphata area in Bhiwandi. The Bhiwandi fire brigade team received a call about the incident at 3 pm. Immediately, police, fire brigade personnel, and metro staff team rushed to the spot. The injured workers were taken to the private hospital, where the doctors said that the condition of all of them was stable, the officials said. The MMRDA is carrying out metro rail work between Thane-Bhiwandi and Kalyan route.
