Abohar, November 12

As the police could not find any clue about the miscreants who had burgled a shop and a clinic here, the Main Bazaar Association gave a call of three-hour strike on Saturday.

The victim shopkeeper, Praveen Chawla, and Main Bazaar Association president Arvind Baghla said a protest march would be started on Saturday morning to wake up the city police from their slumber. The protesters would stage a dharna and raise slogans outside the police station. A protest note would also be submitted.

Unidentified miscreants on Wednesday critically assaulted a night guard in the main market and burgled a

shop and a clinic here.

Despite replacing the City-1 police station incharge

and claiming intensified patrolling, there is no end to incidents of theft. Ajay Kumar, a student and resident of Kothi Faiz, said his bike, parked outside Government Branch High School, was stolen during working hours on Friday. — OC
