DULIAJAN, Nov 12: Persisting with their voluntary objective to help the needy in society, Medha Foundation has organised a health camp in the remote village Betoni of Bhadoi area of Duliajan constituency on Wednesday.
Recently Medha Foundation, led by a group of college students and guided by some distinguished teachers and scribes has taken up a series of voluntary works for the village residents of Betoni village. It may be mentioned that Betoni, a very remote rural village situated at the border of Duliajan and Naharkatia constituency has minimal presence of government schemes and programmes for development.
The health camp on November 10 facilitated free health check to more than 200 patients. The camp was hosted by Bhadoi unit of All Assam Students Union (AASU). The health camp was assisted by Oil India Limited Hospital, Duliajan Rotary Club and Betoni Youth Club. Physicians Dr. Deepjyoti Chetia, Dr. Saqib Alam provided their services at the camp. AASU central executive Anil Gogoi, Dibrugarh district unit AASU cultural secretary Kanak Gogoi, Duliajan unit president Bubul Talukdar, Bhadoi unit AASU advisor Rupanjit Rajgiri, president Manjit Gogoi, Medha Foundation advisor Nirmali Saikia participated in the voluntary effort by the foundation.
Medha Foundation president Bedanta Prasad Baruah, secretary Biplob Kalita, assistant secretary Anabil Goswami, chief joint organiser Chinmoy Gogoi led the initiative to organise the camp.
