New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday hit out at Union Home Minister Amit Shah's reported remarks that women in Uttar Pradesh can move anywhere in the midnight by wearing jewellery and said only that only women in UP know what kind of things they have to deal with every day.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Priyanka posted, "The Home Minister of the country gives the jumla of 'wearing the jewellery,' but only the women of UP know what kind of things they have to deal with every day.

That is why 'ladki hoon, ladh sakti hoon' is necessary. The participation of women in politics and in making policies related to security is important."

The Congress leader also shared a media report on Twitter over chain-snatching experienced by three women in Kanpur, and targeted the BJP government in the state.

Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, has kicked off BJP's poll preparation for the Assembly elections next year. On Friday, he also addressed the organisational functionaries from across the state.
