KANYAKUMARI:
Train services between Nagercoil and Thiruvananthapuram were disrupted due to landslides and waterlogging.
Landslides happened between the Kuzhithurai and Eraniel railway stations (at km 267/800-900) at 8.40 pm on Friday. Waterlogging occurred between Nagercoil – Kanniyakumari section (at km 5/350 – 650) after 2.35am on Saturday.
According to the Southern Railway, restoration work is under progress at both the places.
SR has announced changes on origination of three long distances trains and short termination of one train originating on Saturday.
No 06650 Nagercoil – Mangalore express special on originated from Thiruvananthapuram instead of Nagercoil at 6.10 am Saturday (November 13).
No 06606 Nagercoil – Mangalore special departed from Thiruvananthapuram at 4.35 am instead of from Nagercoil.
No 02666 Kanyakumari – Howrah special departed from Nagercoil at 6.25 am instead of from Kanyakumari.
No 06606 Nagercoil Junction – Mangalore Junction daily special on Saturday will be operated from Thiruvananthapuram.
N0 02633 Chennai Egmore – Kanakumari special that left Chennai Egmore at 5.20 pm on Friday was short terminated at Nagercoil and will be partially cancelled between Nagercoil and Kanyakumari. No 06649 Mangalore Central – Nagercoil Junction Daily (Parasuram) special that left on Friday will be short terminated at Eraniel.
No 02660 Shalimar – Nagercoil Junction weekly (Gurudev) special that left on Wednesday was short terminated at Parassala. No 06605 Mangalore Junction – Nagercoil Junction Daily (Ernad) Special that left on Friday was short terminated at Thiruvananthapuram Central.
