The NSE Nifty index closed 229.15 points up at 18102.75, while BSE Sensex ended up 767.0 points at 60686.69.
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 3.06 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.66 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.27 per cent) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
