Artisans get platform at Lucknow’s Hunar Haat

More than 600 artisans and craftsmen from over 30 states and Union territories will showcase their indigenous products
LUCKNOW: Union minister for health and family welfare Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will inaugurate the 32nd Hunar Haat, a platform to promote and preserve traditional art and craft, at Awadh Vihar Yojana ground in Lucknow on Friday.
More than 600 artisans and craftsmen from over 30 states and Union territories will showcase their indigenous products made of wood, brass, bamboo, glass, cloth, paper, clay. Traditional foods from across the country will also be available.

Indian circus artists will perform spectacular diverse traditional entertainment shows and artists like Annu Kapoor, Pankaj Udhas, Kumar Shanu, Alka Yagnik, Altaf Raja, Suresh Wadekar, Sudesh Bhosale will perform in the evenings. Hunar Haat is being organised from November 12 to 21.
Union minister for minority affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters in Lucknow on Thursday, “More than 6.75 lakh artisans, craftsmen have been provided employment opportunities through Hunar Haat in the last six years.”
UP deputy CM Dinesh Sharma, cabinet ministers Suresh Kumar Khanna, Ashutosh Tandon, Sidharth Nath Singh, Brijesh Pathak and Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, MoS Swati Singh and Baldev Singh Aulakh will also be present at the inauguration.
The venues for next Hunar Haat will be Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Surat, JLN Stadium, New Delhi. Hunar Haat will also be organised in Mysuru, Guwahati, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Patna, Puducherry, Mumbai, Jammu, Chennai, Chandigarh, Agra, Prayagraj, Goa, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Kota, Sikkim, Srinagar, Leh, Shillong, Ranchi, and Agartala.
