The national capital recorded a minimum temperature of the season today at 12.6 degrees celsius, which is a notch below normal, said the Indian Meteorological Department. The weather department also predicted that the mercury will dip in the coming days.
The weather department said that this was the lowest temperature of this season so far. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s air quality remained in a severe category on Thursday with the air quality index at 419 at 7 pm. The relative humidity at 5.30 pm on Thursday was 79 per cent.
On Thursday, the national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 25.4 degrees Celsius and the IMD said that this was the lowest maximum temperature of this season so far. Earlier, the national capital recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 26.3 degrees Celsius on November 5, said IMD officials.
After Diwali, the air quality in the NCR region has deteriorated. Just a day after Diwali, the air quality slipped to a hazardous category, and now it is getting better and is currently a severe category. An AQI between zero and 50 is known to be good. The AQI between 51 and 100 s satisfactory, the AQI between 101 and 200 comes under the moderate category and air quality between 201 and 300 comes under the poor category, whereas the AQI above that is considered as severe.
According to IMD, in the coming days, the city will have a clear sky and there will be shallow fog. The officials also said that the temperature is also likely to fall in the coming days.
