Iran has expressed dissatisfaction over its economic ties with India, the Iranian media reported after the meeting between National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and the visiting Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) of Iran Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani on the sidelines of the Delhi Dialogue on Afghanistan earlier this week.
Calling for the removal of barriers to economic ties, Shamkhani said relations between the two countries were not satisfactory and steps must be taken to remove barriers in the related field.
One of the most important issues between the two countries was to accelerate full commissioning of Chabahar Port, Shamkhani was quoted as saying.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran wants to use its capacities for development and growth of the region so that establishing strong bilateral relations with India can pave the way in this direction,” he said.
