Dice Media grabs for regional content; launches ‘Alludu Garu’ series in Telugu

Hyderabad: Pocket Aces’ long-form premium storytelling channel, Dice Media, is going to bring in the festivities a little early, as it announces its outreach to regional content with the launch of its first Telugu series, ‘Alludu Garu’. The new series is a remake of Dice Media’s super-hit family drama ‘What The Folks!’ who has seen three successful seasons. ‘Alludu Garu S1’ started broadcasting on the Telugu stream giant, aha on October 29th.

‘Alludu Garu’ is an adult story about the struggle of a newlywed son-in-law Ajay (Abhijeeth Poondla) who is forced to live alone with his overworked in-laws in a conservative household for a few weeks. His bittersweet interactions with his in-laws to impress them add to the humor, which will make you laugh and feel sorry for him at the same time. Despite his initial reluctance, Ajay tries hard to live up to their expectations and fits in with the family, keeping aside his contrasting worldviews. While his fight will no doubt tickle your funny legs, you will surely have empathy with his fate.

The series stars Abhijeet Pondla, veteran actor and director Y Kasi Vishwanath and popular Telugu film actor Dhanya Balakrishna. The series is directed by Jayanth Gali, best known for his film ‘Love Life Pakodi’ and co-produced by the popular local digital company Tamada Media. Well-known creators ChaiBisket wrote the program.

The original series starred popular digital faces Veer Rajwant Singh and Eisha Chopra alongside talented actors Vipin Sharma, Deepika Amin and Anula Navlekar in supporting roles.

The 5-episode series has a weekly release from October 29 on aha platform.
