China Oct power consumption up 6.1% y/y - state media

BEIJING, Nov 12 (Reuters) - China's power consumption in October rose 6.1% from a year earlier, state broadcaster CCTV reported on Friday, citing data from the National Energy Administration.

October electricity use totalled 660.3 billion kilowatt hours (kwh), CCTV said, down 5% from the previous month as Chinese regions imposed power rationing to ease a supply crunch. Power consumption in the first 10 months of 2021 was up 12.2% year-on-year at 6.83 trillion kwh, it added. (Reporting by Beijing Newsroom Writing by Tom Daly Editing by Mark Potter)
