LMG donates money to victims of agricultural arson

Imphal, November 11 2021: Like Minded Group has donated an amount of Rs 2,500 each today to four unfortunate households whose paddy were set on fire by some miscreants.
As per a statement released today by LMG a huge quantity of paddy belonging to these four families that was kept in the fields of Senjam Chirang was set on fire by unknown miscreants during the night of November 9.The affected people are Taorem Shyamsunder (65yrs), Laishram Jayanta (43yrs) and Irungbam Yaiskul (60yrs) from Senjam Khunou Awang Leikai and Yumnam Ingobi (58 yrs) from Phumlou Awang Leikai.
The Secretary of LMG stated that instances of agricultural arson have become far too common in recent times.
He made an appeal to the concerned authorities to look into this matter and likened the act to setting people's bellies on fire.
Further, he urged the farmers to keep a close watch on their paddy until they can be moved to safer locations.
He also added that the monetary donation was extended to provide a little respite to the families who were bearing the brunt of such an inhumane act.
Further, he mentioned the high cost of farming, tenant farmers who don't own the land they farm on and the condition of poor farmers and continued to decry the scrupulous persons responsible for carrying out such a cruel attack.
