Shares of TIINDIA(up 2.04 per cent), Bosch(up 1.73 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.41 per cent), MRF(up 1.25 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 0.72 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 3.06 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 2.41 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 0.9 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 0.76 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.66 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.14 per cent up at 11706.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 229.15 points at 18102.75, while the BSE Sensex stood up 767.0 points at 60686.69.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 8 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., IDFC, YES Bank and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd., Bigbloc Const, DC Infotech, Asahi Ind Glass and Sheela Foam hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Fino Payments Bank Ltd., Generic Engg, Quadpro ITeS Ltd., Vikas WSP and Unichem Labs hit their fresh 52-week lows.
