A massive fire was reported at a rubber factory in Sangal Sohal village on the Kapurthala road on Thursday morning. Goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted. The Fire Department officials said they received a call at 4 am about the incident. As many as 20 fire engines had to be pressed to contain the flames. The firefighters worked for more than four hours to bring the flames under control. No loss of life was reported. In another incident on Wednesday evening, a moving Mahindra XUV caught fire near Football Chowk. Gurpreet Singh of Kapurthala jumped out of the car in time and managed to save his life even as the car burnt within a matter of a few minutes. The onlookers immediately came to Gurpreet’ rescue and offered help.
