PCB hopes Rizwan & Malik are fit for semifinal clash against Australia

Dubai, Nov 11 (UNI) Pakistan Cricket Team Manager Mansoor Rana said he is hopeful that Mohammad Rizwan and Shoaib Malik will be in action for the second T20 World Cup semifinal match against Australia.
Speculations were rife over the participation of Rizwan and Malik in today’s semifinal after they did not attend the last practice session and had stayed at the hotel after they caught flu.
Without taking any risk, the players consulted the doctors and conducted Covid tests on themselves. Luckily the tests proved negative.
Rizwan has been in sublime form in the T20 World Cup with his role of opening with skipper Babar Azam. The wicket-keeper batsman has scored 214 runs from five innings at the strike rate of 127.38.
Malik also has been in form and luckily for him, he came as a replacement to an injured Shoaib Maqsood, giving him another opportunity to play for Pakistan in his illustrious international career.
He became the fastest Pakistan batsman (54 runs) to score a fifty off 18 balls against Scotland in their final match of Group 2, leaving behind Umar Akmal’s record in 21 balls.
In a virtual press conference a day earlier, Babar said he was confident that the Men in Green will maintain their momentum and perform well against Australia in the semi-final.
