Kakching Zilla Parishad adhyaksha Phuritshabam Jiten, up-adhyaksha Md Nazimuddin, Pallel GP pradhan Md Mukimuddin, DC Kakching D Gangmei, SP Kakching Victoria Yengkhom and other department officials were also present at the function as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, minister Lukhoi hailed Go to Village and Go to Hill programme of the BJP led government while terming them as meaningful programmes which connect the government with the public right from the grassroots level.
These programmes bring the welfare schemes of the government at the doorstep of the public, he said and urged the people of Kakching district to take maximum benefits of the two-day long camp.
He also encouraged the public to compare the initiatives taken up by the BJP led government with those taken up by previous governments.
He said that the present government faced a roadblock in serving the public full term due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Several developmental programmes and projects were stalled as around half of the budget allocations from almost all departments were diverted towards fighting the pandemic.
Even though several people lost their lives to the pandemic, the committed efforts taken up by the government in the healthcare sector helped in saving thousands more.
The Covid situation is improving in the state but there is still need to stay alert and safe from the pandemic as it is not over yet, he said.
On the other hand, the government also faced some hurdles in showing its full potential as it is a coalition government and there are conflicts over policies and ideologies among the alliance partners.
He then appealed to the public to support BJP in the 2022 state assembly election and help in bringing a BJP government.
He also said that BJP is a par ty which stands for the poor and marginalised section of the society.
MLA Dr Radheshyam Yumnam said that the Biren government has strengthened the hill-valley relationship with its vision and policies of inclusive development.
Issues of bandh and blockade have become a thing of the past.
Peace and tranquillity prevail in the society and as a result the state is moving towards development, he said.
MLA Rameshwar also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister N Biren while speaking about development programmes taken up in Kakching district under the BJP government.
Stalls of different department provided services and benefits of different schemes to the public during the camp.
During the programme, minister Lukhoi distributed assistances under various schemes including sprinkler set under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), textbooks, uniforms, sports equipment under Education Department, smartphones under CM e-Support Scheme, Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT), Widows' Pension Scheme, Pension, aid and appliances for physically challenged, and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), Manipur Start Up Scheme and Cards under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) among others.
