Prices of petrol and diesel stayed put on Thursday across various cities for the eighth straight day. Fuel prices have remained static ever since the Centre announced a cut in excise duty.

Prices of petrol and diesel stayed put on Thursday across various cities for the eighth straight day.

A litre of petrol in Delhi costs Rs 103.97 while diesel costs 86.67. Petrol and diesel in Mumbai cost Rs 109.98 and Rs 94.14 per litre respectively. In Kolkata, petrol and diesel cost Rs 104.67 and Rs 89.79 per litre respectively.

Down south, a litre of petrol costs Rs 101.40 while a litre of diesel will set you back Rs 91.43 per litre. In Bengaluru, petrol costs 100.58 per litre while diesel costs Rs 85.01. In the neighbouring city of Hyderabad, one litre of petrol today costs Rs 108.20 while diesel is available at Rs 94.62 per litre.

Government data shows that fuel demand in India in October rose to a seven-month high as gasoline sales surged to a record high. Fuel prices have remained static ever since the Centre announced a cut in excise duty.
