Kangpokpi, November 10 2021: The civil society organisations of Kangpokpi district has called off its proposed 24 hours total shutdown in the district from November 11 in connection with B Gamnom killing.
However, the CSOs will go ahead with a democratic form of agitation at Motbung model village.
The CSOs of Kangpokpi had earlier served three days' ultimatum to the state government and authorities concerned demanding release of the three persons arrested in connection with the B Gamnom killing case and warned of imposing total shutdown if they are not released within the stipulated time.
KSO Sadar Hills general secretary Thangtinlen Haokip said "we have decided to suspend the proposed total shut down after an understanding with the government representatives in a meeting held at ADGP Clay Khongsai's office chamber".
He continued that the meeting was held with Clay Khongsai, 1G Jayenta, DIG Themthing Ngasangva and Imphal West SP Dr S Ibomcha along with representatives of CSOs Kangpokpi.
He, however, maintained that a democratic form of agitation will be held on Thursday at Motbung Model village in connection with the issue.
