The BJP on Wednesday expelled party leader Surajit Saha for “breaching organisational discipline”. He was chief of the party’s Howrah Sadar unit.

The party’s state vice-president Pratap Banerjee wrote to Saha, “At the behest of [BJP state chief and MP] Sukanta Majumder, you hereby expelled from the party with immediate effect for breaching organisational discipline.” In the video Saha purportedly said, “Suvendu Adhikari came into the party just six months ago. BJP cadres do not need certificate from him to be real BJP cadres.”
