Star winger Edwill van der Merwe is warming up to life at Ellis Park after completing the move from Western Province to the Lions.
The former Varsity Cup prodigy's move was confirmed in August, and, after completing his commitments with the Stormers during the opening rounds of the United Rugby Championship, the Lions finally have Van der Merwe training with them.
In a short clip on their social media accounts, Van der Merwe said: "[The] first week has been really tough, especially getting used to the altitude, but as the week has gone on, it's been a bit easier on the lungs, so I'm looking forward to working hard."
Van der Merwe joins the Lions after the Johannesburg-based side bid farewell to their stalwart winger Courtnall Skosan recently, who has been in fine form at his new home, the Northampton Saints.
The Lions, currently 13th on the log with six points, are next in action in the URC against Cardiff on 28 November, followed by a game against Munster on 4 December.
