Over six lakh artisans have benefitted from Hunar Haats: Minorities Affairs Minister

Vrindavan, Nov 10 (UNI) Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Wednesday said over six lakh artisans, craftsmen and people associated with them have been provided employment opportunities through the government's 'Hunar Haat' program in the last six years.



He was addressing the inaugural session of E-Haat organized in Vrindavan.

The Vrindavan Hunar Haat, 31st in the series, was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. After inaugurating the 31st “Hunar Haat”, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that along with “Braj Raj Utsav”, the talent of the country has also been given a platform by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs. He also said that talent is not restricted to any caste, creed or religion.

Naqvi said that the e-platform of 'Hunar Haat' - HunarHaat.org is linked with the Central Government's e-market portal GeM and it is connecting the local artisans and their products with markets of the country and abroad.

Mathura MP Hema Malini; Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma; Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Laxmi Narayan Choudhary and Vice President of Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad Shailjakant Mishra were also present.

Naqvi also said more Hunar Haats would be organised across the country.

The next "Hunar Haat" will be organised in Lucknow (from 12 to 21 November); Pragati Maidan, New Delhi (from 14th to 27th Nov); Hyderabad (26 November to 5 December); Surat (10 to 19 December); New Delhi (22 December 2021 to 2 January 2022).

Hunar Haat will also be organised in Mysuru, Guwahati, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Patna, Puducherry, Mumbai, Jammu, Chennai, Chandigarh, Agra, Prayagraj, Goa, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Kota, Sikkim, Srinagar, Leh, Shillong, Ranchi, Agartala and other places in the coming days.
