Peru's Pronatel brings free internet to over 4,000 institutions

Peru's national telecommunications fund Pronatel invested over PEN 566 million on broadband projects in the first 10 months 2021, some 120 percent more than that spent in the same period over the previous four years, according to the country's transport and communications ministry (MTC). The investment was above all spent on broadband projects to connect underserved localities in 15 Peruvian regions, including a project to bring free internet access to 3,996 public institutions in 2,185 rural locations in the regions of Loreto, Ayacucho, Apurímac, Huancavelica, Lima, Lambayeque, Cusco, Tacna
