Inside issue 292 of evo
The new issue of evo magazine is on sale now and it’s jam-packed with features, from the finale of our 2021 hot hatchback inquisition to our cover story, to an all-too-fleeting last dance with Ferrari’s fabulous naturally-aspirated V12 in the 812 Competizione.
Adam Towler returned to Maranello to experience what could be the last series production Ferrari with a non-hybridised V12 engine. Limited-production, or few-of versions will no doubt follow, but in its lineage of front-engined V12 Ferrari flagships that started with the 550 Maranello all those years ago this 812 Competitzione is looking like it’ll be the last of the line – and what a way to go.
Issue 292 also features the conclusion of our 2021 hot hatchback inquisition, a series of tests that took all the best hot hatchbacks launched over the last couple of years to establish who is king of the crop.
We also try out a stunning take on the Peugeot 205 GTi, an iconic hatchback reborn by Tolman in the style of a restomod, but with some far more digestible numbers. Editor Stuart Gallagher also drives the iconic Lotus Carlton in our latest evo icons, and Henry Catchpole experiences the truly amazing Audi Quattro S2 rally car.
John Barker experiences two fascinatingly different coupé models and covers our massive 2021 tyre test to reveal the best high performance tyres on the market right now.
All these features and more join our regular features including the latest first drives and news, our latest life through a lens piece, a catch up with car design legend Peter Stevens in his next design breakdown as well as check in with the Fast Fleet and our columnists’s latest ruminations about all things performance cars.
