Workshop on NEP to be held at district level

Imphal, November 09 2021: Education minister S Rajen Singh on Tuesday announced that the education department will organise workshop on National Education Policy (NEP) at the district level in the state, saying that the initiative will help in successful implementation of the policy.
Minister Rajen was speaking as chief guest at the Inaugural cum.Interaction Programme on the preparation and strategy of CBCS & LOCF in implementation of New Curriculum for Collegiate Education held at DM College of Teacher Education.
The programme will go on for five days.
He said that for the successful implementation of NEP-2020, a state level committee headed by commissioner of education, has been constituted.
Sub-committees have also been formed to function at different capacities.
These committees have already geared up for taking up the necessary actions.
Education system of the state has been gaining momentum towards a new direction during the past few months, he added.
The minister further informed that the NEP also focuses on promoting local languages and indigenous history of the particular state.
Inclusion of the history of Manipur in the new syllabus has been discussed by the committee.
The new generation will be equipped with the knowledge of history of the state they belong, he said.
The inaugural event organised by University & Higher Education, Manipur in collaboration with DM College of Teacher Education was attended by Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, director (U & Hr Education) as functional president while Dr Rajkumari Tamphasana, principal of GP Women's College and Ak Surodhoni Devi, principal DM College of Teacher Education were present as guests of honour.
